She's having a party with very high society people at our house next Friday. As she was cleaning up I asked what they were going to do, and I asked if there was going to be music and dancing. I made a meaningless joke about my mom dancing funny at the party like she does when she's listening to music, and she got furiously mad and was all like "You should have seen me when I was young, I was one of the PRETTIEST girls around, I won dance contests!" "Let me take out my pictures and show you!" My sister was there too and we were laughing not cause we didn't believe her, but because she was getting worked up over nothing."All these women are beautiful because of their plastic surgery, and I don't even take good care of my appearance to look beautiful again!" "You girls are pretty, okay, but you were nothing compared to me and your grandma!" My sister got upset and kept saying my mom was calling her ugly, and my mom insisted that she wasn't implying that. When my sister kept bringing it up my mom said "Fine, you're ugly" (although she didn't mean it) and she got teary eyes and went to the bathroom. I told my mom that appearance isn't the whole world, she does mention sometimes that she is a good person too but she gets too caught up in this looks crap.
